Books are cooking: Bloomsbury to feed on UK's love of cookery TV shows

Bloomsbury Publishing will feed on Britain’s love of cookery TV shows in the second half, after reporting rising profits in the first six months.
Pre-tax profit rose by a third to £1.1million on revenues up 13 per cent to £49.2million, helped by a string of successful releases such as Khaled Hosseini’s And The Mountains Echoed.
Boss Nigel Newton said Bloomsbury stands to benefit from a rush to buy textbooks at the start of the university year.

Bloomsbury (down 0.5p to 171.75p) bought legal publisher Hart for £6.5million this year as it seeks to build up its academic titles until it derives half of its revenue from the division
